Bio

Born in Poland, Sylwia Lasota has always had art and creativity in her life.  Her mother was a young photographer, who seems to have passed on the passion onto her daughter.  Sylwia expressed her creativity early in life by drawing and painting.  She took photography in high school and was happy to be part of the yearbook club.  She learned her way around the darkroom and worked with 35mm film cameras.

Later in life, she pursued her passion for photography by attending Independent Digital Photography at Seneca College, in Toronto.  She learned to incorporate her photography skills at jobs that didn’t require for her to be a photographer.   Because of that she was chosen to take photos of company events such as the Bell Mobility Celebrity Gala and the Bell Mobility Idol.  She taught herself how to effectively use a photo editing software called Photoshop and she incorporates the use of it with her art.

She continues to pursue her passion of photography in various aspects of it.  She has taken photos of weddings, sporting events, landscapes, cars and motorcycles, breakdancers, graffiti artists, singers and general portraits.  She is looking forward to opening her own gallery one day and hopefully mentoring young photographers.
